Guest Services

 Day Lodge

Our rustic, old style ski lodge is nothing fancy but provides all the necessary amenities with a rustic, sunny, family-friendly style. The wood stove provides a toasty warming area to lounge on couches and warm up, or dry out wet clothing. There are plenty of picnic tables for families or large groups to gather at to eat and to socialize. Large windows dominate the southern side of the building adding lots of light and warm sunshine to bask in. The windows look out onto the ski hill where parents can easily keep an eye out for their children coming by. There are shelves to stow extra gear and no one worries about anything being stolen. WE have a full service snack bar, but you are welcome to bring your own food. Because we are a family oriented ski hill, we ask that alcoholic beverages not be brought into the lodge, but tailgating is allowed and with our many sunny days is popular with the local adult crowd.

 Food Service

The Warner Canyon Ski Hill hosts a full service snack bar and grill with favorites like hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches and hot dogs – all provided a prices comparable to any eating establishment in town! You won’t get gouged just because you are at a ski hill at Warner Canyon. Specials including pizza, Barbaritoes, and chili are offered throughout the winter. And we enjoy a steady flow of non skiers who come for lunch and our spectacular scenery. Soft drinks, water, breakfast rolls, chips, candy and cookies round out the selections.

Parking

Parking is provided right next to the lodge and ski hill so you won’t have to walk forever before getting to the lodge or lift. The longest walk is less than two hundred yards. The parking lot is gravel surfaced and located on level ground.

Our parking lot is part of Oregon’s Sno-Park system, so a Daily, 3-day or Annual Oregon Sno-Park Permit is required and must be displayed in the windshield of your vehicle. You can purchase your permit early at any DMV office, at a designated agent (such as a sporting goods store) or purchase one at the hill when you buy your lift ticket.

Sno-Parks are located in all mountain passes of the State, including snowmobiling and cross- country ski trailheads. Sno-Park permits from California and Idaho are honored in Oregon. Prices are set by the Oregon Department of Vehicles and fees collected are used for plowing of snow parks through out the State.

Ski Patrol

The Warner Canyon Ski Patrol is an all volunteer organization that provides free medical services to the ski hill and its patrons. This dedicated group of volunteers provide experienced medical care and are well trained to get you off the mountain safely if there is a need. Because we are so close to the town of Lakeview, the ambulance service is easily accessible and you can be at Lake District Hospital in less than half an hour. The Patrol consists of nationally registered Ski Patrollers, Basic and Intermediate Emergency Medical Technicians, and Paramedics. Rescue sleds are staged at the top and mid-way of the hill and our patrol room is well stocked and ready to handle emergencies.

Events

Snow-Fest

Every year the volunteers of Fremont-Highlanders Ski Club and Snow Sports Foundation organize a mid winter event that allows skiers of all ages and abilities to compete and show their skills. Held at the conclusion of our free 3-6 week ski school, it is very popular for our young skiers to show their friends and families just how much they have improved. A giant slalom is set up with timers and races are run all day. At the end of the day, our volunteer Ski Patrol provides a BBQ dinner complete with steaks and chicken and all the fixings. This BBQ is the only Patrol fundraiser which funds all the medical supplies and equipment needed at the hill. When the sun does down everyone is invited to participate in a torchlight parade.

Moonlight Dinner

The Fremont Highlander’s annual fundraiser is a raffle for a “full moon” dinner for four in our ski patrol shack at the top of the ski hill. A gourmet five-course meal is served by board members in our candlelit hut. The meal includes appetizers, artisan bread, salad, tri-tip, agratin potatoes, and hand crafted desert. You can choose to ride the lift up to the top of the mountain, take our snow cat for a ride, or ski down the mountain after a delightful dinner. Truly a one of a kind experience!

Equipment Rentals

You can find rentals in the town of Lakeview at M&D Ski located at 181 North L Street – less than 15 minutes away! They are open an hour before and an hour after the ski hill opens and closes and are open every day that the ski hill is open. They carry both snowboarding and ski equipment and have sizes for all children and adults. For more information call 541-947-4862.
